Anthropic's Claude comes in four lines on RouteMux: Opus, Sonnet, Haiku and Fable. All of them use the native Anthropic Messages API, so requests and streaming look exactly as they do against Anthropic directly; changing the base URL is the integration.
When unsure, Anthropic's advice is to start with Opus 5.5 (released September 22, 2026), and move to Fable 5.1 for demanding reasoning, long-running agents, or when Opus 5.5 at higher effort still misses your evals. Sonnet 5.5 (September 28) balances speed and capability for well-scoped everyday work; Haiku 5.5 (October 7) is built for high-volume, latency-sensitive classification, routing, extraction and sub-agent tasks.
Thinking and effort behave differently in the 5.5 generation than in 5 and 4.x, and several parameter values changed. If your prompts and evals were tuned on an older version, you can pin Opus 5, Sonnet 5, an Opus 4.x or Haiku 4.5 and compare on your own evals before migrating; each model page lists what changed against its neighbours.
